As part of the British Engines Group we have been active in India since 2001.
With a team of over 150 people in two facilities; the teams support a number of manufacturing, procurement, design and engineering activities. India is one of the world’s leading emerging markets with extensive engineering capabilities. What’s more the region is undergoing a continued push for new oil and gas developments particularly in the deep-water Krishna Godavi basin, making India a key country to be engaged with.
The British Engines facility based within the Electronic City, Bangalore is a design and production engineering base, supporting our activities at our head office in the UK. Working with the latest 3D CAD software, CAD
engineers produce designs in both 2D & 3D.
This design data is then used by CAM engineers to create CNC programmes for machine tools in the UK.
Extensive simulation software is used in this process to determine the path of the machine tool and detect any problems before the components are manufactured. Further supporting activities include Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and product visualisation through animation and rendering software.
Generating significant cost reductions from our British Engines network, the facility also acts as an excellent manufacturing and procurement base to source commodity items in country. By using our own sister companies to undertake work on our behalf we can ensure we get the quality and reliability we demand from our components with more competitive pricing.
