Major Projects

We have worked on some of the world’s largest and most complex developments with many of the leading international oil companies and contractors.
From projects with over 3000 small bore valves offshore Angola, to large 36″ pipeline valves offshore Trinidad and Tobago, we’ve covered the full spectrum.
Below we’ve highlighted some of these major projects that we have completed.

Shah Deniz I and II (2002 – 2016)
Valve Type Subsea and surface gate valves for emergency shutdown (ESD) and HIPPS applications
2″-32″ applications
Up to 15,000 applications
ROV, manual, electric, bare stem, gearbox, pneumatic spring return, and hydraulic spring return
BP

The giant Shah Deniz field is located offshore Azerbaijan in the Caspian Sea. Operated by BP, the development is one of the largest gas developments in the world.

Involved in both phase 1 and 2, we were engaged with BP from the very beginning to develop enabling technologies to tackle the complex requirements of this project. The main challenges in developing this project were the extreme pressures that the equipment would need to withstand combined with the locations land locked nature. Despite this, BP was confident that with our long standing relationship we could jointly develop a solution to overcome the technical challenges of this project.

In doing so we have redefined the boundaries of what is achievable, moving the standards of the industry forward with technical solutions including rapid closing times which have increased reliability and ultimately improved the safety of dealing with such a high pressure project. Taking these solutions to the market, we have since been involved in various joint industry presentations, showcasing our technology and the outcomes that come from an early engagement with operator and supplier.

In total we have supplied over 480 valves to Shah Deniz I and II, and continue to work alongside BP on this flagship project.

Kizomba (2004 – 2012)
angola
Subsea side entry ball valves and through conduit slab gate valves.
3″-11″
Up to 10,000
ROV, manual, hydraulic double acting and hydraulic spring return
ExxonMobil

The deepwater Kizomba field lies in Block 15, offshore Angola, operated by ExxonMobil. The full block is estimated to contain more than 3.5 billion barrels, with water depths ranging from 700m – 1500m. As a flagship project in Angola, Kizomba was one of the first to proactively develop the local economy by utilising local suppliers and resources.

Throughout the eight year time period we supplied over 350 ball and slab gate valves to the giant development. From the smaller 3” slab gates up to 11” side entry ball valves, the equipment was designed to pressure ratings up to 10,000psi.

Arabiyah and Hasbah (2013 – 2015)
saudi-arabia
Surface slab gate valves.
9″
Up to 10,000
Hydraulic spring return (fail safe close)
Saudi Aramco

The Arabiyah & Hasbah Gas Fields are part of the large Al Wasit development offshore Saudi Arabia. Operated by Saudi Arabia, the overall Al Wasit gas program is estimated to increase Saudi Arabia’s gas production capacity by 21%.

We have been supplying valves into Saudi Arabia for more than 35 years and became one of the first companies to import HIPPS solutions into Saudi Arabia. Remaining a key supplier to the region, we have so far supplied more than 60 HIPPS solutions for the Arabiyah and Hasbah projects.
