An extensive surface ball valves range providing reliable solutions for topside and onshore applications. By delivering reliable all welded and bolted ball valve alternatives, we are able to deliver the very best, compact solutions for the application and provide single source supply to our customers. Our side, top entry and all welded designs provide robust and reliable solutions for many surface applications
Why ball valves, the operational benefits. Typically trunnion mounted ball valve options are suitable for high flow applications. The concept differs slightly from that of a floating ball configuration in that the ball is held in a fixed position around the ball’s vertical axis at the top and bottom by self-lubricating bearings. The bearings help to absorb the line pressure load and effectively eliminate any load on the downstream seat. This is particularly useful when dealing with higher pressures and for larger bore size applications.
Lower torque is an important benefit of trunnion mounted ball valves and may offer as much as one-third to a half of the torque requirement of a floating ball valve, significantly lowering the cost of actuation. The lower overall height of a trunnion mounted ball valve compared with that of its gate valve equivalent means that where height is critical the ball valve alternative is the solution of choice. Whilst the side entry option offers a cost effective, compact solution, the top entry options are more readily maintained in line making them more suitable for heavy duty and severe service.
Benefits of BEL Valves ball Valve design. Designed to enhance safety, for regulatory compliance and to deliver tough and efficient solutions for surface applications. Our 50 years’ expertise of delivering the right valve solution for our customers’ specific requirements has guided our ball valve portfolio offering. We simply supply you with the right solution to fit the need. The full range therefore reflects this philosophy, offering bore sizes from 1 to 56 inches with end or top entry configurations, designed in accordance with all relevant industry codes and standards. The options feature metal-to metal sealing for the very highest process temperatures or soft seated for less abrasive flow. Single or double piston effect seats are available and body and trim is provided in a range of standard and exotic materials including duplex, super duplex and Inconel.
Although historically known in the industry as an ‘engineer to order’ provider, our drive towards offering standardised, high volume designs will often better suit the needs of the quick turnaround surface applications demanded today.
Standard and Optional Features.
Materials, specification and approvals. Both valve body and trim are provided in the most suitable materials for the application and unique service conditions. Multiple, industry accepted materials are available including carbon and low allow steels, stainless steels, low temperature carbon steel, duplex, super duplex and Inconel. With materials expertise in house we conduct continuous materials improvements to expand our materials range in order to offer the very latest solutions for oil and gas applications.
The primary metal-seated option is tungsten carbide coated to meet specific service conditions. Fully or part clad options are available with non-corrodible weld overlay providing protection to the internal areas of the valve. Valve design is in accordance with the relevant industry codes and standards including API 6A, API 6D, API6AV1, ISO 14313 and ISO 10423.The design also provides fire safe requirements in accordance with the international standards as API 6FA and API 607.
